Hosts deliver first-half blitz to hand 'The Ravens' defeat on the road
A first-half blitz saw FC Isle of Man fall to a 6-2 defeat at promotion-hopefuls Chadderton in the NWCFL Premier Division last night (31 March).
Chadderton took control with four goals in the final nine minutes of the first 45 with a double from Tawab Djankpata, a Lewis-Simon Byrne strike and a finish from Robert Flynn in the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time.
FC Isle of Man grabbed one back seven minutes into the second period through Charlie Higgins before Connor High and Byrne grabbed the home side's fifth and sixth.
Dean Pinnington then grabbed a late consolation for 'The Ravens' in added time at the end of the second half as Rick Holden's side came away from the Emplas Commercial North Stadium empty-handed.
Maximum points for the home side - who sit fourth in the table - lifts them to within one point of Atherton Laburnum Rovers just above them in third.
FC Isle of Man, meanwhile, remain in 19th, five points off Cheadle Town in the place above and having played one game fewer.
FC Isle of Man's next match will be at home against Prestwich Heys this Saturday (4 April) at The Bowl in Douglas, kicking-off at 6pm.
Manx Radio will be providing full live match commentary on our DAB and AM1368 channels.
