Ravens looking to shake off heavy defeat last weekend
Following a heavy defeat last weekend, FC Isle of Man face the task of lifting themselves for another test in the NWCFL Premier Division this evening (9 September).
Still rooted to the bottom of the league after a 5-0 loss at Burscough three days ago, 'The Ravens' head to Cheadle Town tonight in their latest pursuit of improved results.
In the wake of last Saturday's result, FC Isle of Man's board issued a brief statement saying it will be carrying out a review of the season so far after their match on Saturday, 20 September.
When asked about this, FC Isle of Man Manager Paul Jones says he understands this is part of standard procedure at the club.
And on tonight's challenge, he says they may have to come up with some 'innovative solutions' given the squad he has available:
Along with just one win in their first nine league outings, FC Isle of Man also currently hold an unwanted record of the leakiest defence in the division so far, now having conceded 26 goals.
They're one of four teams - along with Litherland REMYCA, AFC Liverpool and Prestwich Heys - to have just four points on the board so far.
Elswewhere, Cheadle Town come into tonight's meeting without a win in their last five, losing three and drawing two and with a league record so far of two wins in their first eight.
Last season, both FC Isle of Man and Cheadle Town managed a win each over the other - a 2-0 home win for the Manx side in September 2024 was followed by Cheadle Town sweeping to a 4-0 victory in the reverse fixture on 9 October, 2024.
Cheadle Town vs FC Isle of Man kicks-off tonight at The Ground Up Solutions Stadium at 7.45pm.
