Both teams eager to move further clear of drop zone

Heading into the weekend six points clear of the drop zone, FC Isle of Man take on a fellow side looking for vital points in the fight for safety in the NWCFL Premier Division tomorrow night (13 December).

Following a late home draw last time out, the Manx side this time welcome AFC Liverpool to the Island with just two points separating both teams.

A long-awaited second home win of the season on Saturday for 'The Ravens' would seem them leapfrog their visitors in the standings.

The travelling Merseyside outfit, meanwhile, will be hoping for a repeat of their performance in the reverse fixture back in September where they subjected FC Isle of Man to a 5-1 hammering at the Berry Street Garage Stadium.

Both sides are familiar adversaries having first faced off all the way back in March 2022 in the Macron Cup where AFC Liverpool emerged winners at their former home of the Marine Travel Arena.

Since then, both have served up several entertaining showdowns in all competitions with 37 goals scored between them in nine meetings.

The last time they faced each other at The Bowl in January this year, the match ended with a thrilling finale in which there were three second-half stoppage time goals which saw FC Isle of Man emerge narrow 2-1 victors.

FC Isle of Man are currently one of only two teams in the division to have one or fewer home wins on the board whilst Phil Stafford's AFC Liverpool have four wins from 15 matches on their travels in all competitions so far this campaign.

FC Isle of Man vs AFC Liverpool will take place at The Bowl in Douglas this Saturday, 13 December, with kick-off scheduled for 6pm.

Manx Radio will be providing full live match commentary on our DAB and AM1368 channels.
