Ravens return to action following vital win last time out

After an important win last weekend to end a recent losing streak, FC Isle of Man will be hunting more points in the NWCFL Premier Division tomorrow (18 February).

The Ravens travel to face bottom-of-the-table side Ashton Athletic at 2pm on Saturday, with the Manx side going into the clash off the back of an impressive 4-1 home victory over Irlam.

FC Isle of Man beat their opponents this weekend 2-1 at The Bowl on 13 August, 2022, and are thirteen points better off than the Wigan-based side currently.

But FC Isle of Man's interim boss, Paul Jones, warns they cannot be complacent against an Ashton Athletic side who've had some improving results in recent weeks:

The Ravens' win last time out brought to an end a run of six straight defeats and secured their first points of this calendar year.

Going into this weekend, they sit 20th in the NWCFL Premier Division on 29 points, seven points clear of the relegation zone one position below.

Victory tomorrow would see FC Isle of Man secure back-to-back league wins for just the third time this season.

Ashton Athletic meanwhile currently sit at the foot of the division on 16 points, 13 away from safety.

However, they've experienced a recent uplift in form taking eight points from a possible 18 in offer in their last six matches.

Their last result was an impressive one as 'The Yellows' stunned high-flying AFC Liverpool with a 2-0 win over the Merseyside outfit away from home.

Ashton Athletic vs FC Isle of Man takes place this Saturday at Brocstedes Park, kicking-off at 2pm

FC Isle of Man team news

There are two enforced changes for the Island side following last weekend's result with captain, Frank Jones, unavailable after picking up an injury against Irlam whilst striker Furo Davies is suspended after picking up a red card late in the same game.

However, the attacking line is boosted by the return of Sean Doyle after two games out with a muscle problem as well as energetic young attacker Tom Creer also returning to the fold.

There is also one alteration in defence with Jamie Corlett replacing Ryan Burns.
