A Night To Remember

England place for young fencer

Fourteen year-old Thomas Corlett from St Ninian's High School has been selected as part of England Fencing’s “Tomorrow’s Achievers” team to attend an international competition in Paris.

Thomas, who started fencing when he was nine, has already had good results in domestic competitions, achieving several medals in the Leon Paul Junior Fencing series.

His ambition is to go to the Olympics.

The Paris competition is attended by hundreds of fencers, representing more than 20 countries.

Ray Stafford, spokesman for England Fencing, Tomorrow’s Achievers, said: “There is no doubt Thomas shows great potential, and we are very pleased to have him as part of our team for Paris.”
