
Alex Eaton and Michelle Turner took the honours in round three of the Up and Running Winter Walking League in Andreas on Sunday.
Scratch man Eaton recorded a time of 48 minutes 47 seconds, finishing ahead of former Parish Walk winners Jock Waddington (49.51) and Richard Gerrard (51.00).
Adam Cowin secured fourth spot (51.11) with Turner’s time of 51.27 enough to secure fifth overall and the women’s race with a time ranking as the third fastest in the UK this year over 10km.
Another former Parish champion, Peter Kaneen, completed the top six (52.17) with Marie Jackson (58.10) and Pauline Ringham (1.04.10) the second and third women home.
Nicola Quinn crossed the line first ahead of Rebecca Greatbatch – who recorded a personal best over 10km of 65m 37s - with the improving Dale Farquhar in third, also in a personal best time of 58m 51s.
