E-Cerebro fall short of whitewash

E-Cerebro registered a fine win against EasyGym in the Division A team league this week.

John Coppell swept Mark Grace aside in a straight sets victory at number five which seemed to set the tone for the contest.

It was a bit closer at fourth string as David Freer took on Mike O'Brien - with Freer earning E-Cerebro their second individual 45 of the night.

He was made to work though and had to win it in four, with O'Brien snatching a game of his own 15-14 in the third.

Youngster Ben Peach is having a December to remember.

He was without a win before this month, and has now won successive encounters.

It's after he showed incredible fighting spirit to come back from 2-0 down against Steve Morley - landing the knock-out blow by winning the deciding game 15-11.

There were no problems for Mike Hayler at number two.

He beat Dave Hedley 3-0 to set-up an opportunity for the home side to complete the whitewash.

EasyGym's top man Paul Barnett prevented the 5-0 defeat though, as he defeated Oscar Hill in four games - 15-9, 15-8, 8-15, 15-4.

The damage had already been done though, as E-Cerebro posted their third win of the season.
