Close match predicted at Port-e-Chee
While its far too early to describe a game as “must win” Douglas’ match against Stockport this weekend certainly has a whiff of make or break about it.
Douglas lie in fourth place in North One West just four points adrift of their Manchester rivals and a defeat would see them just fall away from the leading group with a trip to league leaders Carlisle looming in the New Year.
Douglas lost 24-0 in the away game at Stockport and will be keen to make amends.
They bagged an away win at Burnage last week with Adam Boyd’s try proving decisive, but with rain forecast, they may need to rely on the forwards for points this weekend as Port-e-Chee can be a little sticky in wet weather.
