Douglas slipped up for the second time this year but an 8-8 home draw against Hoylake was enough to keep them in second place in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One.
The Manx side led 8-0 at half-time after a Bryn Snellgrove penalty and a try from hooker Craig Lea.
However, Hoylake wouldn’t crack and recovered well in the second half to share the spoils.
In Division Two, Ramsey picked up their first away win of the season beating struggling Wallasey 6-3 on the Wirral.
Dan Bonwick kicked two early penalties to give Ramsey a 6-0 lead.
Wallasey bagged a penalty of their own but skipper John Watling rallied his troops for the second half and they held on for the win, despite losing Craig Long to the sin bin for 10 minutes.
