Douglas Celts extend lead in Manx Shield

Vagas’ ladies round off home campaign

Defending champions Douglas Celts kept their title defence on track in the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield with a 71-29 win against Emerging Nomads.

Carl Conroy, Daryn Thompson and Wade Shrives were among the Douglas scorers with Andy Lean running in a great solo try in reply for Nomads.

In Women’s NC North West One, Vagabonds came out of their last home match with a 19-6 win against Chester Devas.

Captain Corrina Daly led the way with two tries and ‘warhorse’ Fran Hunt weighed in with one, plus a couple of conversions from Sammie MacDonald.
