TT competitor earns late call-up for Japanese race

Three-time TT winner, Davey Todd is contesting a prestigious endurance event in Japan this weekend.

The 2024 Senior TT champion has been called up to the AutoRace Ube Racing Team for the Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race running from today (1 August) until Sunday (3 August).

His selection follows the withdrawal of Estonian rider, Hannes Soumer with Todd impressing in what the team describes as 'test run' at Suzuka on Wednesday this week (30 July).

Todd will be one of three competitors the AutoRace Ube Racing Team will field at the meeting alongside Japanese rider, Naomichi Uramoto as well as Frenchman, Loris Baz.

The race is part of the FIM Endurance World Championship and formed a round of the Superstock-based FIM Endurance World Cup for the first time last year.

It's currently scheduled that the race itself will begin on Sunday, 3 August at approximately 1am UK time.
