Decision taken due to 'escalating' Covid-19 concerns
An international darts tournament which was due to be held on the Isle of Man early next year has been called off.
IoM Darts Organisation has confirmed the Islands International previously scheduled for 14-16 January won't be going ahead after consultation with counterparts in Ireland and Guernsey.
The group says the decision has been taken due to the 'escalating concerns' around Covid-19 and potential impact on future travel to Manx shores.
Officials add it was agreed the verdict should be taken now given possible costs incurred if it'd been cancelled at short notice.
Finally, the darts organisation says there are committed to holding the event in future when conditions allow.
A separate event - the Isle of Man International Darts Festival - is set to go ahead as planned at the Villa Marina from 10 - 13 March 2022.
