Manx teams took part in inaugural competition in Guernsey
The Isle of Man's men's and ladies' darts teams have been praised for their displays at a inaugural competition held in Guernsey at the weekend.
Twenty players represented the Island at the first ever Island Internationals which was held at the St Pierre Park Hotel in the crown dependency from 27-29 January.
For the ladies team, despite a tough start with a 5-2 defeat to Guernsey and 6-1 loss to Ireland, the Manxies rallied back to take a 5-2 victory over Jersey.
They then went on to overcome Jersey again by a scoreline of 4-0 in the third and fourth place play-off.
Meanwhile, the men's team started with a narrow 6-7 loss to Guernsey, before a 12-1 defeat to Ireland and 4-9 loss to Jersey.
But the men's squad - which saw several players making their international debuts with a number of senior figures unavailable - then put in a valiant display in the third and fourth place play-off with Guernsey despite eventually losing out 4-7.
The Isle of Man Darts Organisation says it's 'very proud' of all those who competed for the Island, saying they represented the Manx flag 'fantastically' across the weekend.
