It's his highest individual stage finish since February
Mark Cavendish has secured a top-ten finish on today's opening stage of the Tour de Hongrie.
The 38-year-old crossed the line in sixth and was Astana Qazaqstan's highest finisher.
For the 'Manx Missile' it's his third-best individual finish of the year so far after a win and a third-place podium during the Tour of Colombia in February.
Elsewhere, race winner this afternoon was Sam Welsford of BORA-Hansgrohe ahead of Team MBH Bank Colpack Ballan's Samuel Quaranta in second with Jakub Mareczko of Team corratec - Vini Fantini in third.
Cavendish will be back in action in tomorrow's second stage of the event which is due to get underway at around 11.40am UK time - the series runs until Sunday (12 May).
