Five cycling events across two days returning this summer
Entries for the next instalment of a major Island cycling event have opened today (1 January).
Gran Fondo Isle of Man - now going into its eighth edition - is currently scheduled to take place from 22-23 July.
It'll see five cycling events take place aiming to cater for all abilities.
Over 1,000 people took part last year - event director, Paul Phillips says why he think the event is becoming more popular:
The events range from the centrepiece Gran Fondo race across an 85-mile route down to the family-friendly Minisculo Fondo in Ramsey.
The Gran Fondo race will once again by a qualifying stage for the UCI World Gran Fondo Series.
The Saturday (22 July) will include the UCI Individual Time Trial event covering 9km up towards Snaefell and on a section of the TT course.
Later the same day will be the Minisculo Fondo aimed at all ages and abilities which covers a 1km circuit around Mooragh Park in Ramsey.
The Sunday, will see the main Gran Fondo event, as well as the 40-mile Medio Fondo and 20-mile Piccolo Fondo races.
