Manx Missile was able to recover and finish the race
Mark Cavendish has escaped unhurt after crashing during competition in Belgium yesterday (6 June).
'The Manx Missile' came off his bike after he was involved in a collision three kilometres from the finish line whilst competing at the Ronde Van Limburg.
In a statement his team, Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl, say he'd been protected throughout the whole day by his teammates who 'worked relentlessly to bring back the escapees'.
The Manxman was placed 'perfectly' in the wheel of teammate Michael Morkov but found himself down 'in the blink of an eye' in the collision which took down several riders.
However, Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl also confirmed Cav emerged 'unscathed' from the incident and was able to finish the race.
