38-year-old has had a spell out due to recent illness
Mark Cavendish is set to make a return to racing today (21 April).
The 'Manx Missile' has been named in the Astana Qazaqstan squad taking on the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkiye from today until next Sunday (28 April).
The opening stage of the event is due to get underway at around 8.25am UK time.
38-year-old Cavendish has spent a more prolonged spell away from competing this month due to recent illness and subsequent time to recover.
It's also hoped he'll be fit to contest the Tour de Hongrie which is scheduled to take place from 8 May.
His last outing was at the Milano-Torino in Italy on 13 March - there he was forced to withdraw mid-race due to what was described as 'gastrointestinal discomfort.'
