Manxman in travelling pack come the finish at Valloire
Mark Cavendish has completed a grueling stage four of this year's Tour de France this afternoon inside the time limit.
On a mountainous route today in which he wasn't expected to be competing at the front the Manx Missile arrived in a travelling pack just over 36 minutes after eventual stage winner and world number one Tadej Pogacar of UAE Team Emirates.
The next two stages of this year's tour however could provide Cavendish with another chance to secure that elusive 35th Tour de France stage win.
Tomorrow's stage five will involve a much flatter 177km route from Saint-Jean-du-Maurienne to Saint-Vilbas.
The day after will also involve a largely flat run over 163km from Mâcon to Dijon.
