Cummins 5th as Plater wins

Ramsey racer Connor Cummins is celebrating after a fantastic result in the Macau Grand Prix

He finished fifth on his standard superstock machine . . .despite being up against a strong field on true Superbikes . . on his debut at the circuit.

The event was won by last year's winner Steve Plater . . with John McGuinness in second and Austrian Thomas Hinterreiter third.

Pole sitter Michael Rutter, bidding for an historic seventh win at Macau, saw his bid end when he overshot a corner. He eventually finished 11th.

Castletown rider Chris Palmer came home in 18th spot having started from 26th on the grid.
