The game was taken to the final over
Valkyres CC beat Peel CC by three runs in the final over to take the Blincoe Cup.
The game took place on Saturday (31 August) as Valkyres won the toss and chose to bat first, where they posted 162/7 in their opening innings.
Peel responded as they scored 155/4 in the 16 over game as Will Bailey made 88 from 68 balls, but it was not enough as they trailed by seven runs as they went into their second innings.
The Western side improved after being put into bat again at St Johns, where they made 186/7 to set their opponents a score of 180 to win.
Bailey impressed with the bat again as he made 73 off 33 balls.
It took until the final over of the game before Valkyres finally completed their run chase with three balls remaining as they scored 182/3 to take the trophy.
