Manx side go top with two wins from two
The Isle of Man men's national cricket side have made it two wins from two on the first day of the European Cricket Championship Challenger Division playoffs.
The Manx side beat Czechia by nine wickets in eight overs to go top of the table on day one.
Electing to field at the toss, the Isle of Man restricted Czechia to 133/4 as Kieran Cawte took two wickets.
In the run chase, the Island team had a shaky start as captain Ollie Webster was bowled out for a duck on the first ball and they could only manage eight runs from the first two overs.
However, once Eddie Beard and Christian Webster settled, the game would only go one way.
Beard hit six 4s and seven 6's for 73 not out, while Webster added 54 not out as the Island completed a dominant display.
Earlier in the day, the Isle of Man beat Estonia for the third time in four games by 18 runs.
The Island team battered first in the match and posted a massive total of 171/2.
Ollie Webster was the pick of the batters as he scored 84 off 30 runs, with five 4s and nine 6s.
The Isle of Man will be back tomorrow 1 October against Greece at 12.45pm, Estonia again at 3.30pm and then Greece at 7.30pm.
All games will be streamed live on the European Cricket Network YouTube channel.
