Catherine Perry named as player of the match
The Isle of Man Women's national cricket team have beaten Malta by nine wickets in the opening round of the Valletta Cup this afternoon (21 August).
Lucy Barnett scored an unbeaten 31 off 25 balls for the Island in the run chase after bowling out the Maltese for 51 at the Marsa Sports Club.
In the field, Catherine Perry and Caitlin Henery both stole the show as they each picked up 4fers to reduce Malta to the subpar total.
The Manx side will now take on Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) tomorrow (22 August) at 3:30pm.
