Island player impresses against MCC in T20 fixtures
Isle of Man cricketer, Lucy Barnett managed to hit a half-century during two appearances for Europe last weekend.
Representing the Europe Women's XI on 17-18 April, the Island player managed a personal total of 52 not-out up against the prestigious Marlyebone Cricket Club (MCC) at the Wormsley Estate in the second of two T20 fixtures last Saturday (18 April).
The previous day (17 April), the 19-year-old had also put in a strong shift in bat, managing 47 runs against the MCC at the iconic Lords Cricket Ground in London.
Across the two matches, Europe took victory in the first at Lord's with a score of 148-5 by end of play before taking victory again at Wormsley on day two with an overall total of 124-1.
Isle of Man coach, Sally Green was also part of the two-day series as a member of the Europe Women's coaching staff.
Looking ahead, the Isle of Man will have another competitor representing Europe next week.
Carl Hartmann will be part of the Europe Men's Under-23 XI to take on the MCC on Thursday, 30 April and Friday, 1 May at Wormsley Estate.
