Clague edges sporting opener
It was very wet and windy at the first round of the SMP Partners Sporting league at Meary Veg in Santon.
Indeed, it was all to shoot for on the final stand with only one point separating the top seven shooters.
Taking A class and the high gun on the day was David Clague with 40 points, one point ahead of Nigel Kelly and George Davies who tied for second spot.
There were also two shooters level for second place in B class with Peter Kelly and Corina Clague on 36 points.
But winning the class prize with 39 points was Stan Cross.
Brian Faragher was the C class victor on 33 points.
Next week is the second round of the Colin Bowen memorial English skeet league.
