Clark's the Master

Lindsey Clark (Cat With No Tail) lifted the Douglas Ladies Pool Masters title during a tense evening of eight ball pool which unfolded at the Cue Zone on Sunday evening.

The quarter finals produced a couple of shocks, with reigning champion Marcie Douthwaite losing to the in-form Sharon Evans 2-0 while the Island's top player Teresa Evans was beaten 2-1 by Maggie Rough.

The semis got underway with Lindsey Clark & Lisa Jones going head-to-head and it was Lisa who soon took control and led 2 – 1.

Lindsey hit back to level the match at 2 – 2 before potting a great eight ball break in the final frame to take the game 3 – 2.

In the other semi final, Sharon was 2 -0 up against Maggie, who was playing in her first major competition.

Maggie soon settled down and hit back to level game at 2 – 2 but a vital miss on her final red during the 5th frame saw Sharon pot her two remaining yellows and the black to take the match 3 – 2.

In the final Lindsey started well taking a 2 – 0 lead before Sharon closed the gap to 2 – 1. In the 4th frame both players played well but it was Lindsey that played solid pool to take the match and the Douglas Pool Masters title with a 3 -1 victory.
