Champions stay on maximum points

Current leaders St George's defeated Gymns 6-1 at Tromode, to stay two points clear at the top of Sure Mobile Premier League, after eight games. Julian Ringham opened the scoring for the champions and Gymns equalised through a well taken header from Keiran McNulty, only for Sean Quaye to put the visitors ahead before half-time. Callum Morrissey made it 3-1 with a well taken goal, before Chris Bass Junior took centre stage, grabbing a hat-trick to keep his side on maximum points.
Second placed Douglas High School Old Boys had a scare when they went a goal behind against Corinthians at Noble's Park, with Stevie Glover putting the ball in the back of the net. But Gary Quirk and Craig Stewart bagged a brace each for Old Boys, and Sean Gavin and Darren Hudgeon were also on target for the visitors. Glover got a second and his strike partner Jamie Stoy scored two as well, but Old Boys ran out 6-4 winners.
Peel moved up to third place with a 4-0 win against Ramsey. Kerron Christian with two, Scott Mychreest and Phil Mayers, with a penalty, were the scorers. The Westerners also had the luxury of missing a penalty, taken by Kevin Megson.
Railway Cup challengers Laxey and Union Mills did battle at Garey Mooar, with Laxey coming out narrow winners by two goals to one. Sam Cain scored for the Millers, but Lee Cowley and player-manager Rob Sorby made sure of the points for the away side.
St Mary's and Rushen shared the points after the Douglas side led at half-time. Scorers for the Saints were Peter Langridge and Mark Priestal, with Lee Davenport and Steve Riding replying for Rushen.
Two sides struggling in Sure Mobile Premier League shared the points at Andreas. Johnny Cowley with two and Paul Kennish were on target for Jurby, with Kevin Anderson, Ian Kirk and Luke Wosser replying for Douglas Royal, in a 3-3 draw.
In CFS Division Two there were wins for the two top sides.
Colby stayed on maximum points from eight matches with a 5-0 home victory against southern rivals Malew. Josh Kelly, with two, Adam Fretwell, Tom Craine and Furoe Davies were the men on target.
Second placed Michael had an amazing win, beating Ramsey Youth Centre by seventeen goals to nil. Michael Shimmin was top scorer for Michael with five, Jamie Moffatt bagged four, Richard Crowe and Island interntaional Nick Hurt got a hat-trick each, and Phil Richardson and Dean Wales completed the rout.
Pulrose and Onchan had a close fought battle at Groves Road. Greg Hoskinson and Mark Walmsley scored for Onchan and Barry English got one for Pulrose, before Paul Kearney clinched a point for the Douglas side when he netted in injury time.
Elsewhere in CFS Division Two there wins for Braddan, Castletown, Marown and Police.
