Manx cycling star Mark Cavendish has bowed out of the Giro d'Italia.
After winning his third stage of the tour yesterday (Friday) – stage 13 – the sprint specialist withdrew as the event heads into the mountains.
Cavendish, who was 24 on Thursday, will now focus on racking up more stage wins in this summer’s Tour de France.
He’s now just two wins behind Chris Boardman's tally of 41 - the most achieved by a British registered competitior.
