Having lost out to Peter Sagan in the hillier opening stage, the whole Omega Pharma squad rallied around the Manx Missile to set him up for a bunch sprint win.
It moves him up to third in the overall standings.
The event concludes tomorrow (Thursday) with a 109.7km road stage followed by a 14.75km individual time trial.
