Manx missile called up last minute
Mark Cavendish lines up today (Sat 26) as part of the eight-man Deceurnink Quickstep team in this year's Tour de France.
The last-minute call-up came after the team's first-line sprinter, Sam Bennett, suffered a knee injury.
It will be the Manx Missile's 14th Tour and the first time competing in the race in three years.
Cavendish has described his relationship with the event as a "long, long love and also hate story" and says he was "in a bit of shock" when he got the call up.
He recent return to fitness has seen him record five wins so far this year.
