Crash leads Manx Missile to abandon
Mark Cavendish has crashed out of the Tour of Britain.
He fell early on on Stage 6 which is travelling through the Peak District from Stoke-on-Trent to Nottingham.
Etixx-Quick-Step has tweeted that he has withdrawn and more information will be provided after the race.
Shortly after the incident, British Cycling confirmed the Manx Missile has been selected in the Great Britain team for the World Road Race Championships which take place in the United States later this month.
Peter Kennaugh has missed out but fellow Team Sky rider Ben Swift is included in the eight man squad.
