The 'Manx Missile' is one of ten people in the running for the title BBC Sports Personality of the Year.
Two thousand and nine was another great year for Cav, the highlight being his six stage wins in the Tour de France, which made him the most successful British cyclist ever in the event.
Other nominees include Formula One world champion Jenson Button, world champion diver Tom Daley, Manchester United footballer Ryan Giggs and heavyweight boxer David Haye.
The nominees will be put to a live vote on the annual Sports Personality of the Year show, on BBC 1 at 7pm on Sunday, December 13th.
