Mark Cavendish has failed to win the points classification at the Giro d'Italia by just one point.
The Manx Missile was unable to make up the deficit on Joaquin Rodriguez in today's final stage, a time trial around the streets of Milan.
After holding onto the red jersey for much of the Giro, Cav relinquished it on yesterday's penultimate stage.
Rodriguez didn't have it all his own way though, as he missed out in the general classification.
Ryder Hesjedal had started the day 31 seconds adrift of Rodriguez after Saturday's stage to Passo dello Stelvio.
But Hesjedal recovered sufficiently overnight to make up the time deficit on Rodriguez in the time trial and give Canada its first ever overall win in a Grand Tour – and the first for the Garmin team.
