Isle of Man cycling sensation Mark Cavendish finished fifth in a rain-sodden 217km fourth stage of the Tour of California.
And his performance in the wet has moved him up to fourth in the points race and 67th overall.
Today's fifth stage is a 24km Individual Time Trial at Solvang.
