Manx cyclist Mark Cavendish finished 7th in this evening's Scratch Race at the World Track Cycling Championships in Poland.
He was heavily marked from the start of the 60 lap race where six riders broke away to gain a lap on the rest.
Cav led several attempts to get back back on terms, but without any help, until New Zealander Haydn Godfrey began to work with him.
They did manage to catch the main field in the final laps but too late to contest the sprint finish.
The Laxey rider will now concentrate his efforts on Saturday's Madison event where he is set to partner fellow Isle of Man rider Peter Kennaugh. The pair were seen training together at the velodrome this morning.
Two Manxies appear on the start list for tomorrow's Team Pursuit. Jonny Bellis and Peter Kennaugh are in the four-man Great Britain outfit.
