Ronague resident competes for England
Isle of Man Archer Lesley Sleight bagged a bronze at the IFAA European Field Archery Championships in Sweden.
Competing for England, she came third in the Ladies’ Longbow class at the event in Kil.
Lesley was outclassed by World Archery Champion Ulle Kell from Estonia, who took gold and set two European records in both the Field and Hunter rounds.
Kell’s team mate Inge Survel - Suviste took silver and also set a European record in the Animal round.
Lesley said, “It was great to win my first international medal for England and it was a good experience shooting for five days alongside some great women longbow archers.
“I will be training hard over the next few weeks in preparation for the World Championships.”
Lesley will be competing for Great Britain against Ulle and Inge at the World 3D Championships in Italy in early September.
