Manx driver Mark Higgins has produced one of the most remarkable performances of his illustrious career.
Driving with a broken collarbone, he has finished day one of the World Production Car Championship round in Japan in an astonishing 10th place.
He sustained the injury at home in Wales before departing for the event.
It was thought he would just role off the start ramp before retiring, in order to avoid any sanctions from the sport's governing body for not starting.
Even better for the Manx star - he is currently sixteen minutes ahead of title rival Toshi Arai, who he needs to finish ahead of to keep his championship hopes alive.
