Manxman beats Engel Gomez on points in Manchester

Manx professional boxer Jamie Devine is now eight fights undefeated after victory in a last-minute rearranged bout at the weekend.

Competing at Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester on Saturday, 5 July he defeated Engel Gomez via points decision by a score of 40-36.

His victory comes after a last-gasp change to his previous plans after he'd originally been due to appear at Robin Park Leisure Centre in Wigan on the same day.

That show was cancelled by promoters, VIP Boxing last week due to the fight card being reduced and organisers being unable to secure replacements.

This latest result means Devine is now eight contests unbeaten in the professional ranks since making his debut at that level in October 2023.
