Manx fighter to take on Linzi Buczynskyj this weekend
In what will be just her second fight this calendar year, Isle of Man professional fighter, Jade Burden returns to the ring to face a former title contender this weekened.
Currently unbeaten in three fights so far at pro level, 'The Grenade' will take on Linzi Buczynskj at Winter Gardens in Blackpool tomorrow night (29 November).
After a first-round knockout win in her last bout in September, Burden faces an opponent who's competed for Commonwealth and English featherweight titles in the last two years.
Ahead of the showdown, the Manx competitor says she's eager to impress against an experienced opponent and hopes a victory on Saturday will open up title fight chances of her own going forward:
After winning her first two fights after turning professional in 2024, Burden has faced numerous disruptions to her schedule this calendar year which has seen contests changed or called off entirely.
She returned to action in September - also at Winter Gardens in Blackpool - after nearly nine months out the ring to produce a stoppage victory over Sydney Chambers.
Meanwhile, Buczynskyj comes into the weekend with a record of five wins and five losses from ten contests.
On her CV already are two title contests - first for the then-vacant Commonwealth Boxing Council Featherweight title in April 2024 which ended in a points defeat to Amy Andrew.
The second came in March this year where she fought Jess Barry for the English Featherweight Title which also ended in a points loss.
