Island squad promoted with perfect league record this season
One of the Isle of Man's badminton squads has been crowned divisional champions during this year's Badminton England County Championships.
Isle of Man 1 has completed a perfect season in Division 2 North, winning all seven games to finish top of the standings and earn promotion to Division 1.
The Isle of Man Badminton Association says moving up to the league above will be the highest level the Island has ever competed as a county.
Another Manx squad - Isle of Man 2 - has also been involved in the same league this campaign following promotion the season before - they've finished seventh out of eight.
Isle of Man 1's success was confirmed during the final round of league fixtures at University of Huddersfield on 22-23 March.
On the first day, a 9-2 win over Yorkshire 5 was followed later on by a 7-4 victory over Lothian 1.
Isle of Man 1 then made sure of their 100 per cent league record on the second day with an 8-3 win in their final game of the weekend against Nottinghamshire 2.
Elsewhere, Isle of Man 2 had two fixtures during that weekend - the first of those on 22 March saw them beaten 8-3 at the hands of Lancashire 3.
The Islanders' only other match came on day two with a 7-4 loss to Lothian 1.
