Backbencher not impressed by government

A general election candidate in Rushen says the current government has handled recent major challenges very badly.

Quintin Gill will be defending one of three seats in the southern constituency on September 29.

He says the Council of Ministers has not risen well to crises like the ending of the Reciprocal Health Agreement and the loss of millions of pounds in VAT revenue.

On Manx Radio's Perspective programme Mr Gill said, as a backbencher, he felt the government's performance was far from impressive (listen to audio file below):

Mr Gill's fellow MHKs in Rushen, Phil Gawne and Juan Watterson, are also defending their seats, with all three faces challenges from Laurence Skelly and Adrian Tinkler.
