Hockey club partners with hospice
Island hockey club Cronkbourne Bacchanalians has made a three year fund-raising pledge to the children's hospice Rebecca House.
The club has committed to raise or donate at least £3000 per year over the next three years, and a series of events and activities are planned over the coming months to get the ball rolling.
The pledge follows a visit by Bacchas members to Rebecca House last Christmas to distribute gifts - club chairman Tim Leeming says the team was so touched by the care provided, they wanted to do more.
It's a firm commitment which will see club and hospice partner in a number of activities - starting with the Rebecca House logo emblazoned on team shirts.
Tim Leeming said: "We have about 200 hockey members and a buoyant junior section so we are hoping we can engender greater awareness amongst the members and some long lasting associations with this important charity."
