Reigning champions Bacchas A launched their title defence in emphatic style on Saturday.
They thrashed their B side 8-1 on the opening weekend of the inaugural men’s Premier League.
And it was a regular marksmen who was the star of the show as Bacchas A romped to victory – they were 6-0 up at half-time - on a weekend in which the weather led to a number of postponements.
Karl Moore hit four and was joined on the scoresheet by Andrew Whiting, James Wright, Richard Le Page and Andrew Vernon-Browne.
Dave Partington netted the B side’s consolation.
A hat-trick from Chris Thomas and one from Chris Caldwell launched Valkyrs A’s title bid with a 4-0 victory against Vikings B, while a goal in each half – one a penalty flick - from the prolific Ollie Webster ensured Ramsey also got off to a winning start with a 2-0 success over Valkyrs B.
