Reigning champions Bacchas A launched their men’s Premier Division title defence with a 7-1 win over Castletown A on Saturday.
A hat-trick from Jamie Cox and two apiece from Richard Le Page and Dave Kneale meant Paul Kelly’s reply was a mere consolation.
Their rivals Valkyrs A also went on the rampage with a 12-1 demolition of newly promoted Harlequins.
Gareth Morris and new signing Ollie Webster led the way with four each. Greg Miller (two), Chris Caldwell and Gerry Quinn grabbed the others.
Peter Foxton netted for Harlequins.
After a goalless first half, Vikings A saw off Bacchas B 3-0, courtesy of strikes from Simon Foster, Juan Corlett and Steve Crowe.
Vikings B came from behind to earn a draw with Valkyrs B.
Valkyrs were on course for victory after first half goals from Vic Ferns and Chris Killey but Ian Perry and Ollie Steriopulous earned Vikings a point.
In the women’s Premier League, Bacchas A edged out Ramsey in an exciting five goal contest.
Sharron Pope, Jennie Vernon-Browne and Sasha Preskey were the scorers with Julie Chesterson and Lowri Bamber replying for Ramsey.
Lorna Kennaugh, Hannah Biggerstaff, Amy Speed, Kate Reynolds and Leanne Brew netted the goals as Valkyrs A saw off Castletown A 5-1.
Hannah Leece was the Town scorer.
