Team confirms signing of Manxman from Florida State
Isle of Man athlete David Mullarkey has completed a move to the Northern Arizona University (NAU) track and field squad in the USA.
The Manxman joins from Florida State University (FSU) with whom he's been racing since early 2023.
NAU is describing Mullarkey - who achieved prestigious All-American status in November last year - as a 'big time addition' to their setup.
During a productive spell with Florida State University, Mullarkey secured victory in the men's 5,000m race at the Payton Jordan Invitational in California in May, setting a new Manx outdoor record over that distance of 13 minutes 28.43 seconds.
More recently he also represented FSU at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Eugene, Oregon in June - his second US national championships appearance - and was also nominated for 2023 Isle of Man Sportsman of the Year back in February.
