Former Island athlete a British and European record holder over distance
Former Isle of Man athlete, Sarah Webster has been selected to represent Great Britain & Northern Ireland at this year's IAU 100km World Championships.
The previous Island resident is one of six female competitors chosen for the national squad for the event taking place in Ames, Spain on Sunday, 20 September.
What's more, Webster will head into the 2026 meeting as both the British women's 100km record holder (seven hours, three minutes and 40 seconds) and European women's 100km record holder (seven hours, three minutes and 48 seconds).
Meanwhile, in October last year, she won the IAU 24-Hour World Championship in France and in the process set a new women's 24-hour world record at 278.622 kilometres.
Her achievements and performances later saw her crowned IAU Women's Athlete of the Year for 2025.
Whilst now based in the UK, she previously excelled in events on and off-Island for her former club, Northern AC and also represented the Isle of Man in the Women's Marathon at the 2022 Commmonwealth Games in Birmingham.
