Manx runner in national squad for August 5k Masters event
Isle of Man athlete Dawn Atherton is set to represent England next month.
The Western AC competitor has been selected in the England team for the Masters 5k representative race against Wales in Kingsley, Cheshire on 23 August.
Atherton will be one of four runners in the F40 class alongside Nichola Evans (Tonbridge AC, Richard Owen); Lucy Wasinski (Glossopdale Harriers) and Nadine Weeks (UTS Run club).
In total, 56 individuals will represent the nation across all the age categories.
Along with the announcement, England Athletics Masters Road Running Coordinator Chris Hollinshead says there will be a number of athletes making their debut and is wishing the whole team luck.
Next month's meeting is also being incorporated into the Mid Cheshire 5K event.
