Manx archer puts in record-breaking numbers in 'challenging' conditions
Manx archer, Lesley Sleight produced a medal-winning and record-breaking performance whilst competing in the UK last weekend.
The Island competitor managed to take gold in the open competition at the Welsh Field Archery Association National and Open Bowhunter Championships last Saturday and Sunday (4-5 October).
With the event being held during what are described as 'challenging' conditions at Aberdulais near Neath, Sleight's open competition score saw her finish 120 points clear of her nearest challenger.
Furthermore, Sleight managed to break the record for the Unmarked 3D Round in the Adult Female Traditional Recurve Class by 22 points during Saturday (4 October).
She then went on to break her own English record in the Unmarked Precision Round by seven points the following day (5 October).
Both records are yet to be ratified by the English Field Archery Association.
