'Political system is fundamentally wrong'

The latest candidate to declare for the Liberal Vannin Party says he is standing because many voters in the Isle of Man feel they are not being represented.

Peter Hill served with the Metropolitan Police for 25 years and moved to the Island ten years ago.

He is married with two children and is currently clerk to Lonan Commissioners and deputy clerk to Laxey Commissioners.

Mr Hill, who will contest the two-seat constituency of North Douglas, says his time with the two local authorities has given him a valuable insight into the workings of the Manx government and 'a deep understanding' of day-to-day issues affecting the people of the Island.

He describes the Isle of Man's current political system as 'fundamentally wrong' and believes 'the time has come for change'.

Mr Hill is one of four people offering themselves to the electorate in North Douglas. The others are outgoing MHKs Bill Henderson and John Houghton, and challenger Theo Fleurbaay.
