The Isle of Man needs to concentrate on serious national issues.
That's the belief of Onchan commissioner Brian Stowell, who is contesting the three-seat constituency in the House of Keys general election in September.
Fifty-nine-year-old Mr Stowell is a former chairman of the Onchan board, and currently runs a livery stables and a property management company.
On Mandate today (Wednesday), he said the Island's politicians needed to get away from small local matters (listen to audio file below):
There are currently five candidates for the three Onchan seats, the others being Mr Stowell's fellow commissioner June Kelly, sitting MHKs Peter Karran and David Quirk, and Jac Hall, who like Mr Karran, is representing the Liberal Vannin Party.
