Charlotte Atkinson made a great start to the 2013 Isle of Man Swimming Championships.
In the 800 metres freestyle, she achieved a time of eight minutes, 56 seconds – 10 seconds within the qualifying time for next year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
Her time was also 14 seconds within the consideration time for the Island Games in Bermuda this July.
The second event of the Isle of Man Swimming Championships - the 1500m Freestyle – takes place on Sunday night.
